Jakarta – Singapore, 17 November 2021 – The world is changing as we move towards a truly digital economy, and the telecom industry is right at the center of this change. Digitalization of the telecommunications industry is creating enormous opportunities for telco players.
As such, Telecoms World Asia, the region's premier conference focused entirely on Asian Telcos, was buzzing this year. Held by Terrapinn on November 16-17, 2021, Telecoms World Asia 2021 was held in a virtual format with an estimated 1.500 attendees.
Telin was represented by CCO Kharisma, CEO Telin Singapore Andreuw Th. A. F., and EVP Voice and Mobility Sales Nicholas Soo, who all participated as speakers in the event. Kharisma had the honor of giving the closing keynote address, while Andreuw and Nicholas joined panels in two different sessions, sharing their expertise as key players in the global telco community.
Andreuw spoke on the “The Future of Telco Data Center” panel alongside the Head of Cloud and Enterprise Data Center Service from Dialog Axiata PLC Sri Lanka, Shan Weerasinghe; Vice President International Facilities Investments from Globe Telecom Philippines, Arlene Mae Jallorina; APAC Sales Director from Kentik Philippines, Min-Soo Kim; and CCO True I.D.C Thailand, Nitipong Boon-Long. The panel focused on the future of Telco Data Centers, which are increasingly becoming a strategic asset for telecom operators.
He shared his opinion on the main challenge in the operation of data center services in Indonesia. “One of the challenges in telco data center is timing. It is important to determine the sustainability of the Company as well. To add, maintaining the DC to be neutrality in hyperscale in order to meet our customers' requirements is something we always work on. "
In the next panel session “What do Customers Want? The Vital Role of Omnichannels in Future CX Strategies”, Nicholas elaborated on how to streamline the customer interactions across multiple touch-points in a unified way to deliver a consistent experience.
“Coming from Telin, we look at providing a customer engagement platform that enables a complete omnichannel experience. We look at the digital and traditional channels and we should not at any point feel that one channel is superior to the other because we have to treat the channel equally. What we have achieved now is providing a seamless platform that allows the information to flow right across our channels for the ultimate experience for the customer,” he said.
Other speakers on this panel including the Director for Digital Transformation from Dhiraagu Maldives, Mohamed Musad; Strategic Projects Management Lead from Smart Communications Inc Philippines, Edmund Rey Santos; CCO Lao Telecom Laos, Piyawat Jriyasetapong; and the Head of Group Analytics from Axiata Bangladesh, Ahmed Saady Yaamin.
Wrapping up the Telecoms World Asia 2021, Kharisma delivered a closing keynote with a presentation themed, “The Next Level of CX Through the Digital Telco Transformation” where he discussed Telin’s customer experience journey, “We listen to customers in every journey. As a matter of fact, Telin’s NeuTrafIX is our digital marketplace for Voice, SMS, and Virtual Numbers. It is the next level of our effort to improve customer experience. We acted upon customer pain points and decided to build a digital marketplace for these three legacy products”. He ended his presentation with a closing statement: “Digital transformation for Telco is about solving customers’ problems, which should be supported by improvements in the operating model and infrastructure.”
