Telin and Telkom Group Conducted Jayapura Landing Station Preparation Kick-off for PNG National Submarine Fiber (Puk-Puk 1) Cable System

Telin initiated a kick-off meeting to prepare the Jayapura Landing Station for Papua New Guinea's National Submarine Fiber (Puk-Puk 1) Cable System. This project signifies not only a business partnership but also government-to-government collaboration between Indonesia and PNG to enhance connectivity in the region.

Jayapura, 19th June 2019 – Telin conducted a Kick-off meeting regarding Jayapura Landing Station Preparation for Papua New Guinea (PNG) National Submarine Fiber (Puk-Puk 1) Cable System at WITEL Jayapura’s Office. The meeting was led by Chief Commercial Officer (CMO) Telin, Budi Satria Dharma Purba and General Manager Engineering Services of PNG DataCo, Mr. Tony Morisause. A representative of Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KOMINFO) also attended the event.

Telin was joined by Telkom’s DWS, WINS, TREG VII & WITEL Jayapura to discuss mainly the requirement details and plan of works to ensure the readiness of Jayapura facilities for Puk-Puk 1 cable system laying from Vanimo to Jayapura. The Jayapura facilities including Beach Manhole (BMH) Base G’ beach Jayapura, terrestrial link from BMH to Cable Landing Station Jayapura and Next Generation Network (NGN) room are expected to be ready for service (RFS) by Q4 2019.

In his remarks, Budi said, “This project is not limited about B2B relationship between Telin and PNG DataCo but also the G2G’s between Indonesia and PNG as the closest neighbor of both countries by providing a good link diversity to Oceania.”

To add, Tony said,“Telkom Group is a strategic partner of PNG to develop connectivity in the country. To collaborate with all team will assist to expedite the completion of this system.” Tony closed his remark with an appreciation to Telin, Telkom Group and representatives of KOMINFO for arranging the kick-off meeting of Landing Station Preparation for PNG National Submarine Fiber (Puk-Puk 1) Cable System.
