Jakarta, December 20, 2024 - Telin EmpowHer Workshop Q4 2024, themed "Speak Loudly, Lead Fearlessly!", was successfully held at Telkom Landmark Tower, 16th Floor, Jakarta. This inspiring event brought together female leaders and young professionals, providing them with a platform to learn, get motivated, and grow through a series of interactive discussions.
The workshop featured Kamidia Radisti, a public speaker and advocate for women's empowerment, as the keynote speaker. She shared her expertise in effective communication and ways to overcome public speaking barriers, such as fear and stress. The opening session was led by Siti Fatimah Zahra – EmpowHer Steering Committee, who emphasized the importance of communication in leadership with the message, "Your voice is the most powerful tool you have."
The main goal of the event was to help participants build confidence, overcome fears, and master communication as the foundation of leadership, while supporting both personal and professional development. One of the key sessions of the workshop was a role-playing activity, where participants were divided into groups of four. Each group was tasked with preparing and presenting an innovative work program planned for 2025. The activity aimed to help participants apply communication techniques discussed by Kamidia Radisti, such as overcoming nervousness and managing stress effectively when speaking in public. These groups practiced speaking with confidence and delivering their presentations as if in front of the Telin Board of Directors (BoD).
Kamidia emphasized the importance of a growth mindset, positive thinking, and the courage to voice ideas. She explained, “Effective communication consists of three main elements: visual – total look & body language (70%), voice (20%), and words (10%). How you carry yourself and your body language have a far greater impact than what you say.” This exercise helped participants improve their speaking abilities while instilling confidence to lead and communicate under pressure.
The workshop concluded with an interactive quiz that left a lasting impression, reinforcing the key lessons and learning experiences. The event provided a valuable opportunity for participants to enhance their leadership, confidence, and public speaking skills.
