Singapore, 14 December 2022 - Telin was honored to receive the Wholesale Operator of the Year award at the Asia Communication Awards (ACA) 2022 held virtually on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022. A total of 21 categories were surveyed and winners were selected by nine independent judges comprised of industry experts.
Competing with major international carriers and wholesalers, Telin showcased its extensive submarine cable regional network as well as its expanding range of new partnerships and services.
In terms of submarine cable network, Telin stands out as the only carrier to provide direct route between USA and Southeast Asia via Telin's self-owned and operated Indonesia Global Gateway, which connects to Middle East and Western Europe (SEA-ME-WE-5), avoiding the earthquake-prone areas of South China Sea, Luzon-Strait, and Japan. Telin has also forged a strategic alliance between the IGG-SEA-US and JGA Cable Systems, offering an alternative route between Singapore and Japan.
Telin’s submarine cable network currently comprises 227,300 km of submarine cable connecting Asia Pacific, Europe and America with plans to jointly own and develop the Bifrost Cable System (BCS) in collaboration with Keppel and Facebook. The Bifrost will be the world’s first subsea cable system to directly connect Singapore to the west coast of North America via Indonesia through the Java Sea and Celebes Sea.
Meanwhile, Telin’s expanding services include NeuTrafiX, a digital public exchange marketplace that transparently connects buyers and sellers with a simple pay-as-you-go model. Having launched less than 2 years, the marketplace is already home to 176 members including carriers, wholesalers and operators. Over a one-year period, SMS transactions on this platform increased to more than 300 million SMS and voice duration traded increased to more than 13 million minutes.
