Timor Leste, 1 December 2023 - It is impossible to exaggerate the value of inclusivity in a society that celebrates diversity. It is more than just a catchphrase; it is a core concept that symbolizes the common goal of building a society in which every person feels appreciated and recognized for who they are, regardless of their origins, skills, or differences. The ability of a community to accept, value, and incorporate each individual's special talents is what makes it truly strong.
A ground-breaking step toward a more inclusive workforce is being made as Telin, through its subsidiary, Telkomcel in Timor Leste, to welcome new team members who offer a wealth of skill, resiliency, and diversity to the company. This special event was part of Telkomcel's collaboration with Yayasan Ahisaun, which was formalized by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on 17 July 2023, to offer people with disabilities the opportunity to work, particularly in the telecommunications sector. The collaboration is also a part of Telin Group through Telkomcel continuous plan in supporting the community. A vacancy was posted with the assistance of Yayasan Ahisaun on 23 October 2023. After a long recruitment process, on 30 November 2023 Telkomcel announced the hiring of two final candidates.
During Telkomcel Annual International Summit (TAIS), the prime minister of Timor Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, graced the stage with Telin's Chief Executive Officer, Budi Satria Dharma Purba, for the grand unveiling. The arrival of these gifted individuals reaffirms Telin and Telkomcel commitment to an inclusive workforce in accordance with the full range of ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) principles. Prime Minister Xanana, in a gesture of warm acceptance, presented each new member with a placard, signifying their official induction into the Telkomcel family. He showed his immense support of the inclusivity movement and proudly stated, “This is what we say; No One Left Behind.”
Inclusion is not just morally essential as we navigate the complexities of the twenty-first century; it is also a key component of advancement, innovation, and collective well-being. State-owned companies (BUMN) in Indonesia have been actively promoting and raising awareness of the equality of people with disabilities in the workplace, which was identified as one of the key issues at the G20 summit.
As Telkom’s international arm that promotes the equality of individuals with disabilities, Telin Group values diversity and is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute their unique talents and perspectives. Telin extends a warm invitation, welcoming brilliant individuals, embracing individuals with open arms, provided there is a match in skills and qualifications, and a corresponding vacancy.
