Telin, a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia, won the Global Connectivity award at the 19th Annual MEFFYS Awards 2024, recognizing its innovative global roaming technology and eight subsea cable systems.

Barcelona, 25 February 2024 – Telin, a global company from Indonesia and a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom), has been honored with an outstanding award at the 19th Annual MEFFYS Awards 2024. Telin was awarded the Global Connectivity during the ceremony held on February 25th, 2024, at Casa Llotja, Passeig d’ Isabel II, Barcelona, Spain. The ceremony was held alongside the Mobile World Congress 2024.

The 19th Annual MEFFYS Awards held in Barcelona with the winners of eight (8) categories: ID & Data, Enterprise Communications, Content & Advertising, Global Connectivity, Mobile IoT, Payments, Personal Contributions, Sustainability and Personal Individual; announced LIVE on the night. The glitz, the glamor, the red carpet - it is once again time to scrutinize the latest ideas and trends across the mobile ecosystem.

The MEFFYS, hosted by the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF), celebrate innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the Mobile Ecosystem, applauding the companies that have made a difference in 2024 across MEFs core ecosystems. The winners are voted by MEF Members and MEF Minute Subscribers which closes at Sunday, 25 February 2024. 

Telin’s innovation for connectivity or global roaming this year concludes the roadmap for inclusive and sustainable connectivity to expand Telin’s global infrastructure. Telin is committed to be the preferred digital infrastructure and platform partner for Enterprise and Hyperscaler Growth in the Asia-Pacific with two (2) entries, Telin’s Global Submarine Cable Systems, and NeuAPIX. With 250,140 km of submarine cables connecting Asia Pacific, Europe, and America, Telin owns 8 subsea cable systems (DMCS, BSCS, TIS, SJC, AAG, SEAMEWE5, SEAUS, IGG), and in development are SJC 2, Bifrost, and SEAMEWE6.

In 2022, Telin also launched Manado as the second internet gateway after Batam with aims to enhance latency & customer experience improvement as well as an opportunity for people in the east part of Indonesia to have the same access to connectivity. The Bifrost Cable System, the world’s first subsea cable system spanning over 15,000 km that directly connects Singapore to the west coast of North America via Indonesia through the Java Sea and Celebes Sea is expected to be completed in 2024. The commitment through various projects exploring the future of digital connection shows Telin’s active engagement of high-speed transmission cables.

The recent submarine cable project of Telin’s initiative is the Indonesia Cable Express (ICE), full integration of seven (7) systems, envisioning a Connected World, with speed, reliability, and cost efficiency being the prime focus concluding of ALPHA (integrating multiple systems) that interconnect Singapore, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, and beyond, with consortium partners, and ICE IV System, 11,000km length to support data center to DC system connecting Intra Asia to India and the Middle East and expected to be operating in the 4th quarter of 2027.
