Bali, September 7th, 2023 – A new partnership has been established between PT Telkom Indonesia International (Telin), a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (Telkom), and PT Citranet Sarana Digital (Citra Connect), with the aim of optimizing internet connection speeds. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sign by both parties to lay the foundation for a regional strategic collaboration in internet broadband connectivity, focusing on the provision of submarine cables and related services.
The MoU was signed by Budi Satria Dharma Purba, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telin, and Michael Kristian Wiluan, CEO of Citra Connect, at Bali International Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2023 event. The signing, symbolized the commitment between Telin and Citra Connect to explore a wide range of partnerships, including but not limited to the provision of landing points and requirements, access requirements for subsea cables, and continued connectivity to the infrastructure within the Nongsa Digital Park (NDP), to leverage numerous potential Data Centres capacity to realize NDP as the heart of digital ecosystem in Indonesia and South-East Asia.
This aligns with Telkom's Five Bold Moves strategy, consists of FMC, InfraCo, Data Center Co, B2B Digital IT Service Co, and DigiCo. Telin, a significant force within Telkom, is actively involved in the development of global infrastructure, digital platforms, innovative products, and solutions. This is also expected to accelerate the growth of the digital ecosystem in Indonesia and beyond, aiming to achieve national digital sovereignty, while also strengthening Telin's position as a leading regional operator.
Telin and Citra Connect will collaborate more closely as part of this strategic partnership to cross-border data transmission reliability and efficiency. There will be opportunities for digital ecosystem such emerging of start-up, and digital infrastructure businesses which include Data Centre and Submarine Cable that will contribute to the national economy. This project is expected to make a substantial contribution to the growth of communication networks and the promotion of technological advancement.
