During the visit, Ambassador Okto Dorinus Manik provided updates on the current investment and economic situation in Timor-Leste, highlighting the importance of continued cooperation between Indonesia and Timor-Leste.
One of the significant projects discussed was the Cross Border Cable project between Indonesia and Timor-Leste. This project is rooted in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on January 24, 2024, between the two countries' respective ministries, which encompasses cooperation in areas such as radio communication, telecommunication services, informatics application, and postal and courier services.
The project aims to enhance Telkomcel's coverage and promote a more robust telecommunications ecosystem. Additionally, Telkomcel has outlined several programs to improve telecommunications services in Timor-Leste, including to improve customer service quality by minimizing disruptions and speeding up recovery times, increasing national efficiency and productivity, mitigating security risks during national events, and providing sufficient internet access in key locations to support such events.
This initiative underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance their telecommunications infrastructure, fostering improved connectivity and mutual cooperation. Telin, through Telkomcel, is dedicated to delivering exceptional services and enhancing connectivity in Timor-Leste.
